Growing up in Kansas I drew game sprites on graph paper for fun and watched cartoon network’s Toonami every day after school. I spent my summers playing War Hammer at our local comic shop, watching reruns of Batman the Animated Series and staying up all night at LAN parties. In college, I studied traditional sculpture at the University of Kansas where my work was heavily influenced by science fiction. After graduation, I worked as a freelance window display designer for a game store and as a screen printer making band merch. I discovered Zbrush while working on a 3D printing project and loved it. To further my knowledge of 3D I enrolled in an animation program at Johnson County Community College. Upon completion, I moved to Los Angeles with my wife and our pet turtle to start my new career in the game industry. I worked as a QA tester at Naughty Dog during development on Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy. Shipping my first title has been a transformative experience and now I am even more hungry to grow as an artist and take on new challenges in the industry. When I’m not making art, I’m playing D&D with friends or hiking with my wife Leah. Some of my favorite pieces of pop culture include Mike Mignola’s Hellboy, Final Fantasy 9, Chrono Trigger, Futurama and Rick and Morty.
